Date: 17. 7. 2024, Slovenia Elektro Gorenjska completed the reconstruction of the protection and control systems of the 20 kV part of the switchyard in substation Primskovo Substation Primskovo is being upgraded this year. In addition to expanding the 20-kV switchyard and replacing secondary equipment, a new 110-kV GIS switchyard is being built. A 110 kV transformer will also be installed on the site, enabling the supply of heavy-duty charging stations in Kranj. In mid-June, the Elektro Gorenjska teams completed the first phase of reconstructing the protection and control of the 20 kV switchyard. The reconstruction is divided into ten phases to ensure reliable and safe operation and enable uninterrupted operation of the facility. After the reconstruction of the 20 kV part is completed, the project will continue with factory testing and the installation of new equipment in the 110 kV switchyard. The construction part of the building already shows its final appearance. Substation Primskovo is a vital energy facility that supplies over 17,000 customers in Kranj, Šenčur, Visoko, Preddvor, Jezersko, Cerklje, and Ljubljana airport.
